Project 16066

Coastal Townhouse Transformation

Tucked in a prime coastal zip code, this townhouse was fully transformed from early 2000s dated to effortlessly modern. With walls removed, textures smoothed, and finishes completely renewed, the home now offers bright, open living with a calm and timeless feel.

This property sold at a record price for the neighborhood and was featured in San Diego Premier and San Diego Dream Homes. [Read the full story here.]

VISION BY THE DESIGNER

"When I first walked into this townhouse, I could see the potential hidden behind the outdated finishes and closed-off layout. The home had beautiful natural light, great bones, and a location that deserved better. My vision was simple: open the space, let the light in, and create something that felt clean, timeless, and inviting.

I wanted every detail to feel intentional — from lifting the ceilings to removing walls that blocked the flow, to selecting materials that would stand the test of time. We replaced heavy, dark finishes with soft tones, natural textures, and clean lines that bring a sense of calm.

For me, it’s never about following trends — it’s about bringing a home back to life in a way that feels effortless but refined. Seeing this project come together, and knowing it set a new record for the neighborhood, was a proud moment — proof that when you respect the space and design with care, the results speak for themselves."

Timeless design, thoughtful transformation.

Before

This townhouse was located in one of California’s most desirable zip codes, just minutes from the beach and local attractions.

Its orientation allowed for beautiful natural light throughout the day, and the primary suite enjoyed an open view of the pool.

The home was set in a friendly, well-kept community and had great structural potential with solid bones.

However, the property came with many outdated features: early 2000s finishes, dark cabinetry, beige granite countertops, and travertine tile floors.

The layout was segmented, with too many walls and a closed-off kitchen, while low ceilings and popcorn wall and ceiling texture dated the interior further.

The landscaping was in poor condition, and the fireplace, HVAC, plumbing, and bathrooms all needed modernizing.
